Today Renata and I got to attend the 2018 - 2019 University of Tampa Undergraduate Research and Inquiry Grant Awardees Luncheon. At least 40 undergraduate students are paired with UT faculty to work on different research projects. Personally, the last few months have been very rewarding. It is so wonderful to see Renata evolve. She is such an insightful and ingenious research assistant! We have several projects were are working on. Next year, we have a number of conference presentations and we plan to submit several manuscripts for publication. Here are a few snapshots from the event.
Hola! Welcome to our research group page! If you made it this far, you know the purpose of this research group and some of the projects we are working on. As the "director," this is my second attempt at organizing and directing a group of students to conduct research in a "research group" format. I work with students and alumni on research projects regularly, but most individually rather than a group format. Last year, I tried to start the research group but very quickly realized that in order for this to be a true "research group" effort I had to seek fundings. The level of commitment is very different when students are getting stipends and can truly dedicate themselves to the projects. This year, I am starting with new cast of students. We have been working together for the last four months and we are making great progress working in our research projects. We hope to continue this momentum as we move forward since the end of the year and the new year bring our first grant report deadlines, conference proposal submission deadlines, and manuscript submissions for publications.
So this is all for now! We are working on a group selfie. Hopefully, we can make this happen before the holidays.
